Holy day Achala Saptami is on 17th February, 2013 and it falls on the seventh day of the Magh month’s Shukla paksha. This is also known as Rath Saptami, Soorya Saptami, Bhanu Saptami, Ark Saptami, Mahati Saptami or Putra Sapmtami.
On this day, devotees are bathing before the dawn and worshiping the Sun, with Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The Deepdaan ceremony is also having its own special importance on this day
According to the hindu scriptures Achala Saptami is blessing for removing all the sins and increasing prosperity and fortune for devotees.
If some people could not take Magha Ablution and observing the Achala Saptami’s fast properly and following all the procedures can recieve same benefits as of Magh Ablution.
Procedure of the fast of Achala Saptami
The devotee who is observing this fast should not have dinner a night before the Achala Saptami which means on the sixth day of the Magh month’s Shukla Paksha.
They should also memorise the God within. On the day of Saptmi, devotee should get up before the dawn and have bath
and only if possible (take ablution in such a pond or a river thats water is not shaked by anyone elses ablution.)

do in ur garden with water in small kettle a metal pot
Thereafter, devotee should take a copper vessal and put cotton wicks (colored in Kusumbh’s colore) or with kumkum and a diya add Seasome seed’s oil, and lightened it and receit the following mantra by remembering the Sun.
The Mantra of the Achala Saptami
Namaste Rudraroopaaye Rsanaampataye Namah|
Varunaay Namastestu Harivaas Namostute||
Yavajjanma Kritam Papam Maya Janmasu Saptasu|
Tanme Rogam Cha Shokam Cha Maakri Hantu Saptami|
Jananni Sarvabhootanaam Saptami Saptsaptike|
Sarvavyaadhihare Devi Namaste Ravimandale||
After meditating, flow the Diya in water and take Ablution once again and remember your ancestors and the God of the clan. Offer prayers to them and do the Tarpan.
Now, come out from the water and wear clean clothes. Make the Ashta Kamal Dal from red sandel paste in a big plate. Place the small staues of Lord Shiva – Parvati and worship them and chant ‘Om Namah Shivaye’.
Worship all the karnikas of Ashtadal Kamal respectively:
Thereafter, worship the Sun with the flower, red powder, sandel, incese sticks, petal leaves and rice grains and prayer to him to come to home and then desolve it in the water. After worshiping, take some jaggery in a pot and mix some ghee and seasome seeds into it; take this feast and all karnikas together and cover it with the piece of cloth. Offer the flower, fragrance, incense sticks and worship it with the mind that it will keep you away from the misfortune, suffering and pain.
Now, give these things to the Brahman in daan with some donations. Afterwords, give donations to the poor people as per your capacity and feed them also.
its not necessary but good if one can do all
the most important is to worship Guru ^ chant the holy names of of ur ishta mantra or Guru mantra or health mantra on this most holy day
