The fifth day of Shravan Krishna Paksha is being celebrated with great faith and devotion all over bharata as Nag Panchami Day as
the holy & auspicious day is a sacred precept to worship Snake gods serpents and lord Shiva on this festival.
Panchami tithi has its importance in many ways. According to Shastras – By having fast and worshipping Nag Dev on Nag Panchami Day one’s desires and ambitions are fulfilled.
Lord Shri Krishna conquered Naga Kaliyan and put an end to the evil deeds on this day (Naga Panchamī).
According to Puranic scriptures, Brahma’s son Kashyapa had four wives. The first wife gave birth to Devas; the second to Garudas; the third to Nāgas; and the fourth to Daityas. Nāgas were the rulers of Pātāl-Loka.
The names of the Nine Great Nāgas are: Ananta, Vāsuki, Shesha, Padmanābha,Kambala, Shankhapāla, Dhārtarāshtra, Takshaka, and Kaliya:
Serpents and Nag Dev have been worshipped on this day since long.
Digging is prohibited in Shravana Mas (July – August). The theory behind this that digging of the ground may harm to living organism like insects and serpents in this month. To avoid the sins of killing living organisms, digging should not be done in this month.
During the festival,people traditionally place pictures of Nagas above the doors of their homes to ward off evil spirits, offer prayers to Nagas, and place food items such as milk and honey in their fields for Nag
Naag Panchami Vrat(Fasting)
Generally, housewives keep fast on this day to enhance prosperity good luck and progress of their children but everyone can take fast for their own good & blessings and do worship of snake gods and images of nagas .
Fasting and worshipping the Nagas (Serpent) and lord Shiva on this day brings auspiciousness in life the easy method of fasting on this day is as follows –
The worshipper must get up early before sun rise on Nag Panchami Day& have bath in the morning
1. After the bath and daily routine in the morning, the house should be purified by sprinkling Gangajal or the water from some sacred river.
2. Establish an idol or picture of lord Shiva and Nag Deva in Eshan Kona. Sit quietly on the ground facing north east direction and take (vow) Sankalp of the fast. After the Sankalp, Nag Dev should be worshipped by offering milk- Durva, Kusha, scent, flowers, grains of rice and sweets.
3. On both side of the entrance door of the house, five sketches of Nag Devta should be made with Cow Dung or red powder. In case, if cow dung is not possible, Geru (red clay powder) could be used.

Nag panchami and Kal Sarpa dosha are associated with each other. According to Hindu Astrology – Nag Panchami day is very auspicious to do pooja for serpents (Nag) and to remove Kaal Sarpa dosha in kundali. (KalSarpa dosha happens when all planets come in the axis of Rahu and Ketu).
Do this Mantra s from ashram and have a little puja and worship on this Nag Panchami day to remove all the negative effects of Kal Sarpa dosha.
This is the best way to bring peace and harmony in life by releasing all negative energies in the areas of finances, mental and physical health by worshipping lord Shiva and Nag Devtas on this auspicious occasion.

नाग पंचमी के दिन , जिन को काल सर्प योग है , वे शांति के लिए ये उपाय करे | पंचमी के दिन पीपल के नीचे, एक दोने में कच्चा दूध रख दीजिये , घी का
दीप जलाए , कच्चा आटा , घी और गुड मिला कर एक छोटा लड्डू बना के रख दे और ये मन्त्र बोला कर प्रार्थना करें :-

Important worship ritual for the removal of kaal sarpa dosha
Shanti puja & mantraa
on the holy day of Naga panchami those people who have Kaalasapa dosha I ntheir horoscopes
they must do this shanti puja
on Naga panchami day go near a Peepal vriksha or fig tree
under that peepal tree
keep some kaccha doodh (pure unboiled milk ) ina pot or something like tat
and light lamps with ghee (clarified butter)
make laddoos sweets
by mixing kaccha atta (wheat flour), ghee ( clarified butter ) and gud ( browncoloured indianjaggery made of sugarcane)
and keep that ladoo under the peepal tree saying these mantras
